Gordy’s is seeking a Full-time, year-round, Service Techs for our Oconomowoc, WI location to lead and run the Service department. Founded in 1955, Gordy’s started as a boat rental and service company has grown to a diverse full-service boat company.
Gordy’s has built its reputation on excellent customer service and the Service Technician must be committed to continue the tradition of excellence and innovation. The Service Technician should work well under pressure, be organized, willing to work long hours including weekends and have a positive attitude toward staff, management, and ownership.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
? Marine service tech experience required.
? A proven professional in the marine service industry.
? Basic computer skills mandatory. Marine based software experience a plus (Dockmaster)
? Product knowledge and staying current with products that Gordy’s offers.
? Basic knowledge of 12VDC systems.
? Knowledge of internal combustion gasoline engines.
? Familiar with marine diagnostic programs (Diacom, G3, etc).
? Experience with I/O repairs required, inboard and outboard experience preferred.
? Professional demeanor.
? Excellent communication skills.
? Passion for the marine business.
? Unquestionable level of integrity.
? Exceptional customer service and ability to speak with customers.
? Marine Certifications a plus but not required.
? Self-motivated and self-starter.
? Ambitious and willingness to learn.
? Pride in workmanship and ownership of repairs provided.
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Service Administration
o Document all customer repair needs on a service repair order with professional notes.
o Review all manufacturer service bulletins.
o Continually add suggestions for work improvement.
o Furnish own basic tools essential for the job (Marine specialty tools will be provided).
? Sales Building
o Attend boat show and other special events as needed.
o Superior execution of high product quality, attentive, responsive, and attractive service staff and warm, fun atmosphere.

? All major and minor mechanical marine repairs.
? Periodic and seasonal maintenance (oil changes, tune-ups, winterizing, etc.)
? Prep and Rigging.
? Accessories quoting and installations.
? Warranty work with proper documentation.
? Shop Inspections.
? Diagnostic and parts lookup.
